My Half Ironic but Totally Real Obsessions

The First Step is Acceptance.

I like the movie Space Jam OK? It is quite possibly the best half cartoon half live action space basketball movie in existence.  When i officially owned a DVD copy of Space Jam, it was over spring break. Its safe to say I've seen it enough times to be set for life. I have no legitimate excuse for liking it for nostalgic reasons because I wasn't born when it hit the theaters. So what? Michael Jordan should have won an Academy Award for his performance. I live to see the day when a sequel is made. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

On one of my past blog posts I talked about my whole-hearted obsession with Freaks and Geeks. I did leave out my two paragraph rant about how I low-key wanted to be Bill Haverchuck's girlfriend. I imagined us playing Dungeons and Dragons together, talk about our shared hatred for dodge ball, read some comic books, and finally watch the Bionic Woman together. To sum everything up into one quote:     Sam Weir: You look a little bit like my grandpa.
Bill Haverchuck: Oh, is your grandpa super cool?

It takes a certain kind of person to sit down with a pint of Cherry Garcia ice-cream and watch 12 episodes of The Cosby Show. I am that certain kind of person. The jazz theme song hooks you in. At one point I was rolling on the floor laughing at a facial expression Cliff gave to Clair when she was on the phone with Theo's girlfriend. 6 straight hours of Bill Cosby can make you realize the importance of comic relief in your life. If you ever have the allotted time, I highly recommend it!

Dave Grohl is one of my favorite humans. I mean it wasn't enough that he was a member of one legendary band so he because the front man of another legendary band WOO! I think I love him so much because he reminds me of my uncle Frankie but with more tattoos and he isn't my godfather. For a good time watch "fresh pots" on YouTube. Just. Trust me on this one.

The molten lava that is Hot Pockets. Do I need to say anything really?

Obsessed With: Freaks and Geeks

Oh Freaks and Geeks, where do I begin? The show starts out like any other relatable teen show from the 1990's, mathlete Lindsey Weir just trying to "figure herself out" in high school. Enter dreamy disheveled babe Daniel Desario who is misunderstood (young James Franco is a reason on its own to watch the show) . That's when you get hooked. The thing is that its not your average angsty teeny show, It's the single greatest TV show I've had the delight of watching (and I never exaggerate!). A geek crushes on the older sister who doesn't know who she likes but knows she doesn't like the boy who likes her but he's just a lonely drummer burnout looking for love! I wish I could unwatch it all just show I could watch it again! So you can understand how greif-stricken I was when I found out there was only one season! I beg of you, the second you finish this paragraph, go straight to Netflix and set aside 18 hours of your life! WARNING! You will be upset at the finale!
